"Machining" at Gallagher Corporation covers mold making, insert manufacture, and secondary machining of molded parts.
Molds for casting and injection molding usually start with a supplied 3D model or one created here. We use SurfCam to create tool paths for our CNC equipment. Because we are on site, we have excellent communication with everyone during the design, build, and production phases of every project.
While some of our customers supply their own inserts for parts such as rollers, many of the cores for rollers are made here. We are quite capable of producing high quantities of roller hubs to .0005" bore tolerance if required.
Of course, we are experts at machining materials like polyurethane. We employ all the practical methods, such as milling, turning, grinding, water jet cutting, die cutting, etc.
